THE 2009 STATE 9-PLAYER DARTBALL TOURNAMENT WAS HELD AT THE HO-CHUNK CASINO CONVENTION HALL IN
WISCONSIN DELLS, WISCONSIN, ON MARCH 28 & 29, 2009. A RECORD TURNOUT OF 85 TEAMS ENJOYED A GREAT
TOURNAMENT IN A FANTASTIC LOCATION. THE STATE TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE RAN THE TOURNAMENT AS A
GROUP EFFORT. THE STATE COMMITTEE WANTS TO THANK ALL THE TEAMS FOR THE EXCELLENT SPORTSMANSHIP
AND FELLOWSHIP OVER THE LONG TWO DAY TOURNAMENT! HERE ARE THE RESULTS:

CLASS A - CHAMPIONSHIP: (1) Hickory Inn (S. Milwaukee) outlasted (2) NEW STOP (N. E. Wisconsin) in another epic championship
battle in which the first and second game each went an extra inning. Both times the visiting team held on for the win, and both times the
losing team missed the game tying triple in the bottom of the 10th inning. Hickory won the first one 28-26, and NEW STOP won the
second one 23-20. The third and deciding game was less dramatic, as Hickory took home the title 10-4. Hickory manager Bob Leskovar
extended his record number of titles to 11.  This is Hickory's 5th title since 1997, and only Jim Hoenecke and Bob Kubly were 1st time

THE STATE COMMITTEE MEMBERS RAN THE 2009 TOURNAMENT AS A GROUP EFFORT, AND STARTED SETTING UP AT
NOON ON FRIDAY. SEE THEM IN ACTION IN THE PICTURES BELOW.
One of the highlights of the tournament for the state
committee was having 7 new teams to the state
tournament. We were also excited about attracting 5
out of state teams, including two from the Detroit,
Michigan area. They had never shot in any
tournament, or on Wisconsin boards prior to the
tournament. They also had to adjust to shooting from
twenty feet instead of 25' like they do in their league.
They had a lot of fun, and proudly wore their league
board design on the back of their shirts. We look
forward to continued growth from out of state teams.
THE STATE COMMITTEE WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL 85 TEAMS FOR
COMING TO THE 2009 STATE TOURNAMENT AND FOR TAKING TIME TO
FILL OUT THE SURVEY FORMS.
THE COMMITTEE WOULD ALSO LIKE TO THANK THE MEN AND WOMEN
THAT WERE NOT ON THE STATE COMMITTEE THAT ASSISTED WITH ALL
THE THINGS ASSOCIATED WITH RUNNING A TOURNAMENT OVER TWO
LONG DAYS. WE WISH WOULD COULD LIST NAMES, BUT WE DIDN'T TAKE
TIME TO RECORD ALL THE EXTRA VOLUNTEERS NAMES. PLEASE KNOW
YOUR EFFORTS WERE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
IF YOU HAVE ANY FEED BACK THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO GIVE TO THE
STATE COMMITTEE, YOU CAN ALWAYS SUBMIT IT THROUGH THIS WEB
