in the banquet Hall, located at 1963 Holmgren Way. (Near Lambeau Field)

They play using a handicap scoring system, based on 80% of the run difference.
The league has been in existance since 1939.

Glidden Lodge
The Green Bay Dartball League has a long history going back to 1939. Record books from the
beginning of the league were recorded by the several league secretaries. Many of the early records
were kept by Henry VandenElzen, who was the league secretary from 1942 thru 1994.
In 2011 Henry was inducted into the Wisconsin Dartball Hall of Fame. His biography can be seen on
this website on the Hall of Fame page.

GREEN BAY INDUSTRIAL DARTBALL LEAGUE Season 1939-40
November 28, 1939
The initial organizational meeting was held 8:00 P.M. at the YMCA. Members of the following teams
were represented: Shefford Hoberg Kraft Kelhbergs Fairmont

December 1, 1939
Another organizational meeting was held at 7:30 P.M.. Boards are ready for the league to play at
the YMCA. The first night of play will be Wednesday, December 6, 1939 and drawings of 13 teams
for the first week were held.

Moved by Ralph Tubbs and second by Mr.Anderson the league set aside for a trophy not less than
$5.00 or more than $7.50 for the winning team of the league season.
It was decided that teams finishing in the first 8 places are in a playoff. The winner of playoff shall
be complimented with a dinner at the annual banquet meeting.
Meeting adjourned at 9:10 P.M.
April 4, 1940
The league banquet was held at the YMCA in the Mitchell Joannes Room. The chicken banquet
was held for 140 players and their wives. John Scholl of the YMCA was the speaker.
Adolph Glawe accepted the Championship award that was given by the president to Northwestern
Assemblymen.

**NOTE: What are Defense Savings Stamps?
The Defense Postal Savings Stamp Albums were distributed by the U.S. Treasury, mostly through the Post Office Department. It was a way
for the government to have the public help finance the war effort. War savings stamps were first issued in 1917, during World War I. In May,
1941, the America on Guard series appeared, consisting of 10, 25, 50 cents, $1 and $5 denominations. Use was encouraged as a way for
the public to save money and at the same time contribute to the war effort. Adults could place them in correspondingly higher value
"albums" and trade them in upon completion for $50.00, $100.00 or higher denomination War Savings Bonds

--Agreement with the YMCA at the end of the season.-- "We the undersigned Managers of the teams which participated in the
YMCA Industrial Dartball League agree to the following terms of settlement relative to the League treasury and property as of the
close of the 1946-47 season."
"The sum of $55.63 balance in the treasury to transferred to the officers of the present Green Bay Dartball League. The League
property of four (4) dartball boards and all new and used darts be given to the YMCA in recognition of their interest and
corporation in organizing and sponsoring the Industrial Dartball League from 1939 to 1947."

The League began the season playing at the Moose Club.

There will be a $5.00 entry fee per team. On the second week of league playing the entry fee must be paid.
Each man must pay 25¢ per night of league game.
The Lodge is to receive 20¢ for each man and 5¢ will be put in a separate fund for books, etc.
On games other than League schedule, the Lodge will collect 25¢ per man.
The Secretary will be paid $25.00 by the Lodge.
There will be given one prize each night of league playing and the $1.00 will be paid by the Lodge.
The total prize money at the end of the season will be not more than $35.00 and will be paid by the Lodge.
The name of the league is Green Bay Industrial League.
A banquet will be furnished by the Moose Club and the end of the season, but must not cost more than $100.00.
No drinks will be served to players from the start of the game until the games have completed for the night with the exception of
pop.
